Configuring Your Emlid Reach Receiver as a Network Rover in FieldGenius® for Android™
This deployment guide details the process required to configure an Emlid Reach receiver to operate as a Network RTK Rover inside MicroSurvey FieldGenius for Android. Following this uniform installation routine ensures reliable, real-time corrections via localized NTRIP data casters.
Receiver Hardware Settings
Before launching the main data collection ecosystem, you must configure the communication ports on the physical GNSS unit using the mobile app interface:
- Launch the Emlid Flow application on your device and link up with your receiver.
- Navigate to the configuration options and adjust your Correction Input selection explicitly to Bluetooth.
- Enter the receiver system settings menu and verify that Bluetooth Discoverability is toggled firmly to ON.
FieldGenius Profile Setup
With your receiver discoverable, launch your primary layout software suite to map and bind a persistent instrument connection profile:
- Open FieldGenius for Android and enter your desired active field project database.
- Tap Select Instrument from the dashboard view and choose Add Profile.
- Access the device dropdown menu and specify Emlid RS3 (or your corresponding exact system generation hardware parameters) within the hardware Make and Model fields.
- Provide a unique, recognizable text profile name string and select Create.
- Set up your communication pipeline by choosing Bluetooth connectivity and cleanly pair the app with your target receiver serial string.
Corrections & Data Source
To acquire precision survey fixes, you must route internet data streams cleanly down to the paired GNSS hardware:
- Enter the Set Up Corrections options configuration view and choose RTK via Internet.
- Select Set Up Internet and explicitly declare the active Data Collector as the core pipeline providing network traffic.
- Proceed directly to Set Up Data Source and select Add New Source.
- Carefully enter your primary local real-time network parameters along with your secure, personalized account NTRIP credentials.
Offsets & Tolerance Profiles
Conclude your instrument configuration setup by applying correct spatial offset rules and site constraints:
- Antenna Height Calculation: Input your physical measurement precisely to the bottom of the receiver housing. FieldGenius automatically adds internal geometric phase center antenna offset values to this base measurement.
- Active Tolerance Bounds: Enter Active Tolerance and map threshold configurations matching your specific contract specifications. Fine-tune precisions and preset filters manually if your survey criteria require restrictive accuracy limits.
- IMU Tilt Calibration: Select whether your rover profile configuration will utilize active hardware Tilt Correction sensors during point captures.
Your network RTK rover layout setup is now fully operational, checked, and ready to record high-precision field coordinates.
