Accessing the Reach Panel and Downloading Logs Directly to Your Computer
Below is a step-by-step tutorial on transferring raw survey files directly from your Emlid Reach RS2+ or Emlid Reach RS3 hardware receiver to your computer. This workflow is current as of firmware version 31.6.
As an alternative to traditional, slower file-sharing methods like emailing zipped folders or uploading data segments to a remote cloud partition, you can retrieve files locally from the hardware storage container. Because your core survey project vectors are synchronized with Emlid Flow 360, downloading localized raw data logs—such as high-frequency RINEX or raw UBX formats—directly via a browser interface creates an exceptionally rapid data management pipeline. These extracted records are fully optimized for downstream PPK post-processing or submission to baseline correction networks like OPUS.
Step 1: Connecting to the Local Receiver Network
To establish communication with the hardware's internal file system, you must bridge your computer to the receiver's local Wi-Fi transmission network. If you are executing this layout on a Windows machine, navigate to your wireless taskbar menu, select your Reach device name, and click Connect. When prompted by the OS network dialogue for the network security key, input the default network password: emlidreach.
Step 2: Launching the Reach Panel Interface
Once your workstation is bridged directly to the hardware's Wi-Fi network, launch your preferred web browser window. In the main URL address bar, search for either the designated standalone IP address of the receiver or type your specific receiver name followed immediately by the local network path suffix: .local
This path initializes the browser-based Reach Panel web application. Within the left-hand navigation column menu, click into the Logging directory tab. Locate your target observation window dataset from the log history, and click the matching download icon property.
Step 3: Extracting and Utilizing Raw Logs
The downloaded archive container will save onto your workstation as a compressed folder structure. Decompress the zipped package locally by right-clicking on the container file and selecting Extract Here to unroll your raw geodetic log files.
These compiled records are perfectly suited for submission to the National Geodetic Survey's OPUS (Online Positioning User Service) network. Depending on the exact duration parameter of your static field capture, the OPUS engine can process your observation datasets using two separate computing tiers:
- Static Processing: Optimized for extended baseline observations running between 2 and 24 hours.
- Rapid Static Processing: Engineered for quick field snapshots ranging between 15 minutes and 2 hours.
Submitting your records through OPUS generates an official solution text page.
