Configuring your Emlid Reach as a Base and Rover in Emlid Flow
In this tutorial, we will go through the step by step process of configuring your Emlid RS3 or Emlid Reach RS2+ as a base and rover using their internal radios. If you're new to your Emlid Reach product, it's recommended that you first flash the latest firmware before you set up your NTRIP configuration. You will need to download the Emlid Flow app on your smartphone or tablet for this configuration.
First, connect to your RS2’s WiFi and open the Emlid Flow app. Connect to the receiver that you have chosen to be your Base. You have the option to get corrections to your base in real time by connecting it to an NTRIP network but that requires a constant internet connection to the Base. Turn Off Corrections for now. Select Base Output and then select LoRa. Select Base Settings with the Coordinates entry method reading Average Single. Click Configure and enter your Pole Height. Emlid Flow will add the additional offset for the antenna to give you your exact height.
Back at the main menu click Logging and then the gear icon in the top right. We got our corrected base point from OPUS and to be safe, we also backed up the source data for RINEX. Click Apply and Restart. Your Base is now ready.
To prep the Rover, connect to the receiver with Emlid Flow. Change your Correction input to LoRa. Confirm your frequency and data rate match your Base. Since this is the Rover, turn Off the Base output all together. In the Settings, make sure Position streaming is set to Bluetooth and enable your Bluetooth Discoverability.
Now you a ready to start collecting points with Emlid Flow in conjunction with your Emlid RS3 or Emlid Reach RS2+ receivers.
