DJI Zenmuse L2 Specification Review and L1 Comparison

The DJI Zenmuse L2 integrates frame LiDAR and a 4/3 CMOS RGB mapping camera which provides more precise and reliable geospatial data acquisition. DJI engineered a new IMU and a smaller, more powerful laser which improves the horizontal and vertical accuracy and increases the detection range by 30 percent. In conjunction with the DJI Matrice 350 RTK and DJI Terra, the L2 offers a turnkey solution that is simple to use, lowering the operational threshold.

The L2 can fly higher and cover more ground with increased accuracy. The L2 supports up to 5 returns which hits 1.2 million points per second resulting in even better vegetation penetration. The L2’s RGB camera sensor size has increased to 4/3 inch and the shooting interval has decreased to 0.7 seconds. You can use the CMOS sensor for a traditional mapping mission when LiDAR isn’t necessary. The L2 does not have a pre-flight warm-up time and DJI Terra optimized for L2. There is also real-time point cloud rendering optimization.
