This video will show you step by step how to use Emlid Caster to set up an Emlid Reach RS3 and an Emlid Reach RX as a base and rover. This method should work with any NTRIP capable receivers that use RTCM3 format corrections.
We are going to configure a base and rover operating over Emlid Caster. First we either need to Sign Up or Sign In to Emlid Caster. Once we are logged in, we can view our five free mount points, any receivers that are online, and the credentials we will need to input into our receivers. Make sure your receiver is flashed with the latest firmware before continuing.
We will need both our base and rover connected to the internet for this configuration, so I am going to install a SIM card in my RS3. With the SIM installed we will need to navigate to the Settings and then toggle Mobile Data to On. If you are using an Android device to connect to your base, you will need to connect over WiFi to access these Settings. You should now see the reception bar appear in the top left next to the receiver’s battery indicator.
Now we will navigate to Base output, select NTRIP, then the edit button. Input your Address, Port, Password, and Mount point provided on the Caster website. If everything has been input correctly, you will see your mount appear on the Caster website.
Now we can connect to our rover; in this case we are using an RX. Select Correction input and edit the NTRIP credentials. You can create a new NTRIP profile or edit an existing profile. Then, just as we did with our base, we will input the credentials found on the Caster site. The rover credentials will be found further down on the Caster page. If everything has been input correctly, you will see it appear on the Caster website. You are all set and ready to start collecting your points.
