Lixel Kity K1 vs. Lixel L2 Pro
E38 Survey Solutions is proud to offer two different 3D laser scanners from XGRIDS, a world leader in 3D intelligent spatial computing.
With 80% of its team members dedicated to research and development, XGRIDS pours considerable resources into testing and achieving advancements in 3D technology, so they can release better and better products. Two of their best are the Lixel Kity K1 and the Lixel L2 Pro 3D laser scanners, both of which are available through E38 Survey Solutions.
This post will break down the differences between the Lixel Kity K1 and the Lixel L2 Pro, so you can make an informed decision between the two based on your goals and needs.
About the Lixel Kity K1
The Lixel Kity K1 is a compact, handheld 3D laser scanner. It’s convenient, lightweight, and easy to use on the move. Anyone can simply pick it up and start scanning, without extensive training or complex setup.
Because the Lixel Kity K1 is so lightweight, it is almost always carried by hand.
About the Lixel L2 Pro
The Lixel L2 Pro is a handheld 3D laser scanner with LiDAR, visual, and IMU capabilities. The Lixel L2 Pro has a greater working range than the Lixel Kity K1 and captures more points per second.
The Lixel L2 Pro is slightly heavier than the K1 and is compatible with a range of accessories from XGRIDS. The L2 Pro can be mounted on a two-meter pole or a backpack with a stabilizing arm for easier transportation.
Comparing the Lixel Kity K1 and the Lixel L2 Pro
The Lixel Kity K1 and the Lixel L2 Pro share a few key performance metrics. Both 3D scanners run for about ninety minutes on a full charge and can operate at temperatures ranging from -20°C (-4°F) to 50°C (122°F). Additionally, both offer absolute accuracy of 3cm.
There are a few key differences between the Litel Kity K1 and the Lixel L2 Pro that should be considered when making purchasing decisions.
Weight
The Lixel Kity K1 weighs just 1 kilogram, or 2.2 pounds, including its battery. The Lixel L2 Pro weighs 1.7 kilograms, or 3.75 pounds, without its battery.
Working Range
The Lixel Kity K1 has a working range of 0.1 to 40 meters. The Lixel L2 Pro has a working range of up to 120 meters for the 16-channel model and up to 300 meters for the 32-channel model.
Points Per Second
The Lixel Kity K1 captures 200,000 points per second. The working range of the Lixel L2 Pro varies based on the model. The 16-channel model captures 320,000 points per second, while the 32-channel model captures 640,000 points per second, resulting in an incredibly dense point cloud and sharper models.
Price
The price tag of an XGRIDS 3D laser scanner is customized based on the features and software tools you may need or already have. However, it’s worth noting that the Lixel Kity K1 is the more affordable of the two, with the Lixel L2 Pro costing roughly two to three times more, depending on the model you choose.
