Configuring Emlid Reach RX (MFi) for ArcGIS Field Maps on iOS
ArcGIS Field Maps is an ESRI Collector that allows you to capture data with GPS receivers such as the Emlid RX. The RX can serve as a network rover receiving NTRIP corrections over Bluetooth. For more expansive workflows, check out the Emlid RS2+ and RS3.
This article will walk through configuring your Emlid Reach RX (MFi) to function seamlessly with ArcGIS Field Maps. For this functionality in iOS your RX will need to have the MFi (Made For iPhone/iPad) certification. This certification will be clearly marked on the packaging or with an MFi marking on the base of the RX.
First, we will open the Bluetooth settings on your iPhone and pair the RX. Once connected we will open Emlid Flow to configure our corrections. We will select NTRIP over Bluetooth for our Correction input and an appropriate NTRIP profile.
Once you confirm that you are receiving corrections, open Field Maps. We will navigate to our profile settings and tap on Provider under Location. Tap Add and the RX’s serial number should be displayed. Tap Add again and input your Antenna height plus 0.145 m for your antenna offset. Now you are ready to start collecting your data in Field Maps.
ArcGIS is a comprehensive geospatial platform for professionals and organizations. It provides capabilities for creating, managing, analyzing, mapping, and sharing all types of data captured by GNSS receivers such as the Emlid RX, RS3, and RS2+.
