Integrating Emlid receivers with Trimble Equipment
We're going to walk through some different ways you can integrate your Emlid receivers with your Trimble fleet, whether that is machine control, another base station, or rovers.
Scenario 1 - I want to use my Emlid receiver as a base station for my Trimble rovers or machine control.
Ideal option - If your Trimble rovers and machine controls will receive 410-470 MHz UHF using Trimtalk 450S, then you can simply use a Reach RS4 or RS4 Pro, acquire a UHF radio license and you will be able run your Emlid receiver as a base for your Trimble rovers and machine control.
Secondary option - Set your Emlid base station, whether RS4, RS4 Pro, or RS3 up as a network base station. On the base station side, this involves installing a SIM card into your Emlid receiver and connecting it to Emlid Caster. On the Trimble rover or machine control, you will connect to the base like any other VRS or NTRIP network.
Scenario 2 - I want to use my Emlid receiver on a site that has a Trimble base station.
Ideal option - If the Trimble base sation is ouputting 410-470 MHz UHF using Timtalk 450s, then you can use the Reach RS3, RS4, or RS4 Pro to receive corrections from the Trimble base station.
Secondary option - Set up an Emlid base station and run it side-by-side with the Trimble gear. You'll localize to your site just like you would with a Trimble rover and you'll be able to run all the same functions on site just like you would if you were connected to a Trimble base station.
