Importing CAD files in Emlid Flow
This video will show the updated CAD file import introduced in Emlid Flow 12.1. This allows you to import a .dxf file as a background overlay, as well as select points or lines in the drawing to stake out too. If your drawing doesn't correlate to a known coordinate system, you should import points from the drawing to localize the project as demonstrated here.
In this video I demonstrate the new and improved CAD import in Emlid Flow. In our Project in Emlid Flow or Flow 360 we can import a .dxf as a CAD drawing. Since this drawing isn’t in a real world coordinate system we will also need to import some points to localize the drawing. Emlid Flow can’t yet create points from the drawings so we’ll have to generate them outside of Emlid Flow and import them. Then we will be ready to collect our measured points to pair with our drawing's control points. Once we have our measured points we’re ready to localize. In some cases you’ll need to toggle the CAD drawing off and back on to see it transplanted in place. With our drawing in place we can begin staking to the drawing.
