This resource provides a technical feature review of the workflow tools available inside Stitch3D. Designed as an intuitive web-based environment, Stitch3D streamlines how survey specialists process, evaluate, and share high-density LiDAR scans with engineers, project managers, and downstream clientele without forcing recipients to manage complex standalone desktop software suites.

Data Processing Initialization

Because Stitch3D is a cloud-native software tool, deployment requires no local system package configurations. Users simply navigate their web browser layout to the login terminal at stitch3d.io to access centralized profile directories and active group projects.

Adding new datasets is a straightforward execution path: upload a standard LAS point cloud dataset directly into the secure cloud landing page. Within just a few minutes, the background cloud computing engine fully ingests, re-tiles, and renders the raw point data, populating an interactive 3D rendering view accessible on any hardware platform.

Volumetric & Spatial Metrics

Once point cloud structures materialize inside the browser viewport, field analysts have access to an advanced suite of remote sensing inspection tools:

  • Dynamic Volume Calculator: Extract stockpile analytics instantaneously. Draw a polygon perimeter boundary closely around a target inventory structure, right-click the closed path, and the cloud engine calculates spatial volumes immediately.
  • Mass & Inventory Valuations: Convert geometric data into actionable commercial insights. Select the designated material type profile matching the surveyed stockpile to dynamically generate mass estimates and material values.
  • Variable Distance Toggles: Gather explicit length constraints via smart snapping point metrics. Users can toggle distance calculation profiles to pull specific directional dimensions across irregular structures.
  • Profile Slicing & Sectioning: Isolate critical elevations by establishing clean geometric cross-sections. This allows operators to mark thin structural slices to view real-time topography profiles across structural assets.

Reprojections & Fly-Throughs

Beyond static measurements, Stitch3D supports data transformation routines and high-quality presentation outputs. Operators can quickly reproject spatial point coordinate frameworks into separate regional reference grids or target datums directly inside the web UI.

For stakeholder project demonstrations, engineers can trace and program cinematic 3D camera fly-through paths through the dataset, outputting fluid video walkthroughs that accurately present true site configurations.

Collaborative Data Delivery

The primary advantage of the Stitch3D ecosystem centers on removing information silos. Field data collections can be delivered immediately via simple hyperlink channels. Any downstream viewer with an active internet connection can instantly interact with full-resolution point clouds, run independent point validations, and monitor live project revisions in real time.
